Buddhaghosa

Buddhaghosa was the great fifth-century commentator of Theravada Buddhism. He composed the Visuddhimagga (The Path of Purification) and many commentaries on the Pali Canon, based on the tradition of the Great Monastery (Mahāvihāra) at Anurādhapura, Sri Lanka.
