Joyful Mid-Autumn Festival 2024 in Mã Đà Commune, Đồng Nai

The Vườn Sala Charity Fund organised the VUI TẾT TRUNG THU (Joyful Mid-Autumn Festival) programme for children in difficult circumstances in Xã Mã Đà, Huyện Vĩnh Cửu, Tỉnh Đồng Nai.

The full moon of the eighth month, vast and wide,
Mid-Autumn, a song so fervent in its love of life,
Childhood, beautiful and shining bright,
We cherish the radiant smiles of little ones…

The Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the most joyful festivals, eagerly awaited by children. At this time of year we see the shimmering colours of lanterns, with the lively sound of drums and music in the small alleys and streets. Children put on their nice clothes, with bright smiles on their faces, carrying lanterns in procession under the moon to the lively sound of drums and music.

Amid this festive atmosphere there are still children in hardship who struggle to make a living and have never had a full Mid-Autumn Festival. With enthusiasm, compassion and the wish to bring joy, laughter and a meaningful Mid-Autumn season to the children of Xã Mã Đà, Huyện Vĩnh Cửu, Tỉnh Đồng Nai, through the “VUI TẾT TRUNG THU” programme the Vườn Sala charity group brought the Mid-Autumn spirit to the children. The group organised fun games, special performances, servings of pork-rib rice porridge, and gave 250 gift packages to the children, each containing a lantern, a mooncake, notebooks, pens, pencils, milk, and sweets and snacks.

The gifts and the Mid-Autumn activities delighted the children. Though of little material value, they mean a great deal to the children here. They are also the care, the sharing of love and the warm affection that the community brings to the children, to motivate them to strive in their studies and rise up in life.

We are grateful for the support of the local authorities, the officials, and the Youth Union of the Đồng Nai Nature and Culture Reserve (Khu Bảo tồn Thiên nhiên – Văn hóa Đồng Nai).
